The
Imperial Queens Park Hotel in Bangkok was selected based on the friendliness of
its staff and the size of its conference facilities. Recently renovated
rooms will be made available for GLN attendees in this truly magnificent 4-Star,
37 storey, twin tower hotel, which dominantly graces Bangkok's beautiful
skyline, from its downtown Sukhumvit location. As attendees from
prior year Conferences will agree, this hotel exceeds all expectations for its
food, location and facilities.
Please use the
Conference Reservation Form to book your rooms. By
doing so, you will get FREE Wireless Internet during the Conference and GLN will
also guarantee your room for the 1st night to avoid you having to give credit
card details ahead of check-in.
Everything in this 1,400 guest room hotel is on a grand scale; the 1,600 square
meters lobby is four times the size of ordinary hotels; deluxe rooms are a
spacious 28 to 40 sqm.
Every room at The Imperial Queen's Park offers guests an en-suite bath and
shower (plus whirlpool in deluxe suites), electronic key card access, IDD
telephone, in-room safe, refrigerator with a fully stocked mini-bar, radio,
color TV with 24 hour satellite programming.
The Imperial Queen's Park
also offers excellent sports and recreation facilities with two swimming pools,
air conditioned squash courts, snooker room, health and fitness centre with
daily aerobic classes, saunas, Jacuzzis, steam baths, top of the line "Nautilus"
weight machines and of course expert masseurs.
For dining, you can choose from 6 restaurants, which include sumptuous cuisine
from Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Continental, Vietnamese and International.
With the Imperial Queen's Park located only a brief walk away from Bangkok's BTS
skytrain, the whole of Bangkok has never been more easily accessible.
Airport to Hotel:
When you have retrieved your
baggage, exit through Customs and turn right. We suggest using either the Bureau
d Change or the ATMs to obtain local Thai Baht currency. Note that the exchange
rates are the same as elsewhere and far better than the hotel rates. Ignore all
vendors and hawkers and follow the signs to the Taxis (currently on the floor
below the arrival area but this changes periodically). At the taxi ranks, you
will find English-speaking staff who will ask your hotel (The Imperial Queens
Park on Soi 22) and give you a slip denoting a specific taxi. When you are
en-route, make sure the meter is turned on and request "Toll-Way" or if
adventurous, "thaang duaan" in Thai and give the driver THB 100 for the tolls.
Otherwise, you will end up taking the backstreets and a hefty fare. Depending on
traffic, the trip should be around 30 minutes and the fare should be around THB
300 + THB 50 Airport Surcharge. A tip of around THB 50 is also applicable. All
Taxi-Meters are air-conditioned and safe to use.
